Artists from illustration studio The Drawing Book Studios have launched a project called Colourful Language which sees them choose and illustrate their favourite swear word.
The aim of the project is to raise enough funds through presales of the T-shirts, postcards, badges and sponsorships ranging in value from $10 to $350 by August 5 to present an exhibition with interactive media, music and live art.
The aim, according to organisers, is to celebrate the cathartic feeling one gets from expressing yourself with colourful language.
Matt Jackson, owner of The Drawing Book Studios said playfulness and initiative are two qualities that drove artistic expression beyond the expected.
"Colourful Language was something that the illustrators came up with to motivate themselves to step outside of client commissions and have a play outside the boundaries of a brief. We love it for that reason and because it's harmless fun,” he said.
It's still about big ideas. One of the big ideas now is where and how you present yours.
