Nikon has this week unveiled its 3D cinema ad, created in partnership with Val Morgan and Peter Jackson’s post studio Park Road.
Converted from the hugely popular I Am Nikon ad starring Stephanie Gilmore, Jamie Oliver and Robbie Williams will be shown during the Val Morgan pre-show cinema program at all main Hoyts and Event Cinemas from July 12.
In addition to the star-studded line-up, the emotive TVC depicts real moments from the lives of everyday people, using images to capture those most precious moments and express their individuality.
Shot in part on location in Australia, the TVC was converted into 3D by New Zealand-based Park Road. The two-minute cinema ad is the longest that Val Morgan has ever seen converted.
Val Morgan Australia national sales manager Dan Hill said 3D content was becoming increasingly popular with the cinema greats with Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott and Baz Lurhmann all picking up on James Cameron’s lead.
“Savvy brands are understanding that cinema provides the ultimate audio visual platform for advertising,” he said. “Combined with 3D technology and cinemas ability to cost effectively run non-traditional length commercials, like Nikon’s two minute I AM Nikon campaign, we are seeing a renaissance in marketing produced to entertain.”
It's still about big ideas. One of the big ideas now is where and how you present yours.
